This week's free iOS app is actually two versions of the same game: Angry Birds Space and Angry Birds Space HD. The former is made for the iPhone and will usually cost you 99 cents. The latter is for the iPad and normally rings up at $2.99. From now until this coming Thursday, both apps are yours for the low, low price of zero. The game comes with 300 levels taking place on 10 planets, including our Solar System. Some of the features include zero-gravity game play, which will allow you to come up with trick shots. Hidden bonus levels can be discovered, and each bird has special abilities.
It seems like its been years since the Angry Birds phenomenon took place. With the wild success of the series, Angry Birds became a licensing machine with images of the foul fowls seen on everything from Band Aids to clothes, Thermos kits to sneakers. A movie was released last year and did reasonably well.
At the peak of the game's success, Angry Birds' developer Rovio talked about becoming the next Disney. An Angry Birds theme park opened in China in 2011, and at the time it seemed like the sky was the limit. If you've never played Angry Birds before, or you never played this particular title, here is a chance for iOS users to download the game for free.
