Adnan Januzaj has been criticised by Belgium Under-21s boss Enzo Scifo after the on-loan Manchester United winger failed to accept an international call-up.
Januzaj was part of Belgium's 2014 World Cup squad after a breakthrough season under David Moyes at Old Trafford but has since struggled for minutes with the senior squad.
However, the 20-year-old, on a season-long loan at Borussia Dortmund, appears to have no desire to represent his country's U21s, according to Belgium coach Marc Wilmots.
"He didn't exactly refuse, but we were not under the impression that he wanted [to play for the U21 side] no matter what. If that's the case, it's better to not come," he told Het Laatste Nieuws.
Scifo, however, has criticised the player who will now stay with Borussia Dortmund to work on his form and fitness during the international break.
