Fixtures list favours Real Madrid
Whether the four-point lead Barcelona now have over Real Madrid following their win ihas won them the league or not will be seen in due course. Neither the fixture list nor the Champions League favour Barcelona, though Real Madrid's route to the end of the season is not strewn with roses, either.
Real Madrid's next match is at home to Granada, while Barcelona will be going to Vigo to play against a Celta side who are on a roll following their victory over Levante. And then there will be the Champions League quarter-finals, which will demand from both Real Madrid and Barcelona that extra effort which they might pay for dearly in the league.
After Barça's trip to Vigo they will have five home and five away games left. Real Madrid on the other hand will have six matches at home and four away.
Barcelona will be hosting Almería, and then they go to Sevilla, which by no means will be a walk in the park. They will then play at home again, this time against Valencia, which will be followed by the Barcelona derby game away to Espanyol. Between the Sevilla and the Valencia games, they will play the first leg of the Champions League quarter final, while the second leg falls between the Valencia and Espanyol games.
Barcelona's last five games consist of Getafe at home, Córdoba away, then Real Sociedad will visit the Camp Nou. Barcelona will then travel to the Calderón to take on Atlético de Madrid, and their last league match will be at home to Deportivo de la Coruña.
After taking on Granada, Real Madrid have to play at the Bernabéu against Eibar, Málaga, Almería, Valencia and Getafe, and their away fixtures are at Rayo, Celta, Sevilla and Espanyol. These are the games that will decide the league.
